General Issues
Men, in general, subject themselves to more pressures. From trying to be Macho and being sensitive, is something that doesn’t come to them naturally. In trying to fit into social circles they try various things, including foods gadgets, games, drugs, and alcohol. Though the latter three come with a cost, they don’t harm health. But the former, two have been known to destroy men and in some cases, their families.
The Costly Things:
Foods, Gadget and Games can be of help when you use them carefully. While foods give you pleasure and health, gadgets save loads of time. Games can be a good form of exercise, build mental capabilities. However, getting addicted to eating variety of foods, results in bad health, and too many gadgets to fit in can be too costly. Games can be the costliest of them all if you all do is betting or play poker.
However the losses incurred by these ‘costly’ things can be temporary and most of them will be in terms of money only.
The Addictions;
Men start Smoking, taking Alcohol and Drugs mostly out of curiosity. These curious trials put them in embarrassing situations, as it is more likely that they do not handle ‘first time’ well. So they give it another shot to show off their masculinity, but by the time they are able to control these things, they are already addicted to it.
Almost all the people who smoke or drink too much of alcohol, know that their health is going to be hugely affected by it. Yet they cannot control their minds and easily succumb to their habits.
Once addicted, they keep trying only to fail. A cigarette has around 3000 toxins that affect various parts of the body. Though alcohol in controlled manner is good for health, more than small pints per day increase the risk of cancer, and various ill effects.
Until confronted with ill health, men think that they are in control of their habits. And when ill health strikes, they face the effects of both their health and the urge to have a bit of their favorite cigar or drink
